Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks an experienced Applied AI Engineering Manager to lead the development and deployment of AI/ML capabilities across defense-focused product lines. You will manage a team of PhD-level researchers and engineers, translating advanced AI research into practical, field-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, ML, AI or related field.
• 10+ years in AI/ML with at least 5 years leading teams.
• Track record deploying AI in production/operational systems.
• Experience with embeddings, RAG, RLHF, prompt engineering, and fine tuning.
• Expertise with ML frameworks and MLOps pipelines.
• Familiarity with embedded/edge AI environments.
• Knowledge of RL, NLP or signal processing.
• Experience interfacing with SQL/MongoDB databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead Applied AI initiatives translating research into deployable solutions.
• Manage, mentor, and inspire PhD-level AI engineers and researchers.
• Architect scalable AI solutions for perception, decision-making and sensor fusion.
• Productize AI models ensuring robustness, interpretability and edge performance.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, software and product teams.
• Represent CHAOS in technical briefings and customer discussions.
• Hands-on when needed to contribute technically.
