Job description

VP of Revenue / Full-Time / San Francisco, CA

Cambium, a circular economy innovator, tackles key environmental challenges in supply chains. Utilizing our Traece technology, we salvage fallen lumber and transform it into Carbon Smart Wood, a carbon negative building material.

About Us

Cambium uses technology to make it easy to access material we normally waste. We work across the lumber supply chain to turn salvaged material into Carbon Smart Wood. From arborists, sawmills, and cities to manufacturers and wood products companies, Cambium connects this material to the market while providing transparent chain of custody reporting and impact metrics.

What You’ll Do

As our Vice President of Revenue, you will bridge strategic oversight and front-line sales, driving both revenue growth and operational excellence. This unique hybrid role requires an experienced leader who can partner to help scale a sales organization, manage revenue operations, and engage directly with clients in a revenue-generating capacity.

In this critical position, you will build the internal operational foundation necessary to support Cambium's ambitious growth. Partnering closely with the leadership and sales teams, you will optimize sales and revenue processes, implement scalable tools, and create data-driven solutions that enable strategic decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include managing goal-setting and forecasting processes, streamlining operations, and leveraging automation to enhance data accuracy and accessibility. This role demands a blend of strategic selling and technical expertise, with a focus on developing metrics, refining CRM systems like HubSpot, and aligning operations with business objectives.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement scalable sales processes to support growth and efficiency.
  2. Track and analyze sales performance metrics (via HubSpot) to forecast revenue and identify opportunities for improvement.
  3. Document sales specifications, customer preferences, and project details to enhance organizational learning.
  4. Work with Logistics and Fulfillment to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of products to clients.
  5. Prepare and deliver regular sales and operational reports to leadership.
  6. With the Head of Sales, help develop and execute a sales strategy to meet revenue targets for Carbon Smart Wood.
  7. Engage directly with target clients across industries, pitching Carbon Smart Wood and building strong, long-term relationships.
  8. Conduct lunch-and-learns, presentations, and client education sessions to promote sustainable building materials.
  9. Guide clients through technical decision-making, providing expertise on wood products and sustainable alternatives.
  10. Prioritize top sales opportunities and oversee their progression through the pipeline.
  11. Collaborate with the Supply team to ensure seamless alignment between customer expectations and inventory capabilities.
  12. Manage and develop supporting staff to grow a high-performance sales team.
About You: Required
  1. 8-10 years of experience scaling sales organizations.
  2. Previous experience in a scaling startup required.
  3. Proven track record in sales leadership with direct client engagement.
  4. Deep knowledge of wood products, sustainable building materials, and construction industry trends desired.
  5. Strong operational acumen, with experience optimizing sales processes and using CRMs like HubSpot.
  6. Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to meet clients and attend industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with sustainable wood product companies (e.g., Kebony, Accoya) or building materials industries.
  2. Existing network within architecture, design, or manufacturing industries.
  3. Familiarity with specifications, proposals, and bid submissions.
  4. Passion for sustainability and circular economy practices.

Some of our teammates have never gone to college, some have, some never worked in wood, some have, but they all show up on a daily basis and put their heart and soul into their work. That is what we prefer. If it sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
