The role focuses on profitability, inbound freight programs, and annual marketing execution to support the company’s goals.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, optimizing inventory, ensuring responsive customer/vendor interactions, and driving purchasing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience required.
• 6-7+ years in procurement with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Manage inventory levels to optimize cash flow and service levels; negotiate best price and program with vendors.
• Interact with customers and vendors in a timely, accurate, and respectful manner; respond to inquiries and maintain high fill-rate.
• Establish procedures to increase purchasing department efficiency and productivity.
• Improve purchasing strategies through knowledge of the food distribution industry and continued development in the sector.
• May oversee marketing/merchandising functions.
