Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Minnesota seeks a procurement leader responsible for all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers, hiring, training, coaching and counseling of staff, and driving profitability through vendor bill-back and inbound freight programs.

The role will supervise associates, manage inventory, negotiate with vendors for best prices, and improve purchasing strategies, with potential responsibility for marketing/merchandising functions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 6-10 years in procurement or related area with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching and performance management.
• Manage inventory levels to optimize cash flow and service levels; negotiate with vendors for best price and program.
• Interact with customers and vendors to answer questions and maintain fill-rate service levels.
• Establish procedures to increase purchasing department productivity.
• Improve purchasing strategies based on food distribution industry knowledge.
