Dorsia is redefining the future of hospitality—and we need a strategic, people-first leader to help scale our team as we grow. As VP of People, you’ll be a core member of the leadership team and the architect of our People strategy.

You'll be reporting directly to our CEO and partnering with department heads to shape a high-performance org—one that attracts top talent, develops leaders, and maintains Dorsia’s culture as we scale. You’ll bring structure to onboarding, performance, and comp, while keeping a pulse on engagement and retention across the org.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering

  • Own the People strategy, aligned with company goals and growth trajectory.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to C-level leadership on organizational design, hiring plans, and culture.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment on headcount planning and budget.

Performance & Development

  • Design and implement performance reviews tied to clear job descriptions and competencies.
  • Build internal promotion paths and use tools like PIPs, OKRs, and rubrics to support accountability and growth.
  • Partner with leaders to spot talent gaps early and develop proactive succession plans.

Culture & Engagement

  • Lead our engagement strategy: pulse checks, annual surveys, and follow-through on feedback.
  • Own our monthly all-hands and employee comms, being a visible champion of team health.
  • Maintain our employer brand across platforms like LinkedIn and other career pages.

People Operations & Onboarding

  • Build and refine People processes that scale—from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Ensure all new hires get a structured 30/60/90-day ramp-up, with clear check-ins and growth plans.
  • Own exit interview processes and use feedback to inform org-wide improvements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Build and manage competitive pay bands using benchmarking data.
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales and Finance on commission structure.
  • Ensure benefits are competitive, well-communicated, and aligned with employee needs.

Recruiting

  • Hire and manage a team of recruiters to fulfill our growth strategy.

Data & Compliance

  • Use data and insights to track the impact of People initiatives and inform strategy.
  • Ensure compliance across payroll, HRIS, and labor laws, partnering with legal and finance teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of People leadership experience, ideally in VC-backed, fast-growth startups.
  • Deep experience working directly with executive leadership.
  • Proven success scaling People functions in orgs with 50-200 employees.
  • Strong in org design, performance management, comp/benefits, and employee development.
  • Data-driven, resourceful, and comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Experience building from scratch (we’re not just optimizing—we’re still building)

Compensation

New York Pay Range

$100,000 - $200,000 USD
