Job summary

A leading building products manufacturer located in California is seeking a Vice President for their paper division. This executive will drive strategic initiatives focused on operational excellence and product innovation. Responsibilities include overseeing manufacturing operations, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and leading recruitment and development of employees. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Engineering and have extensive experience in manufacturing, particularly within the paper or gypsum industries. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Paper Science preferred); advanced degree (MBA or M.S.) a plus.
• 10–15+ years in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in leadership roles; paper or gypsum industry experience preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially paper-making and fiber technology.
• Excellent communication and influence skills; able to present to executives, boards, and public groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction and strategic planning for division operations.
• Lead paper mill operations.
• Negotiate, review, and approve supply contracts for key vendors.
• Monitor plant operating requirements, safety, and quality performance.
• Oversee recruitment, performance, development, and discipline of employees.
