This leader oversees the full lifecycle of construction delivery, from preconstruction through closeout, while ensuring operational excellence, financial discipline, and consistent execution across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, including international airports, complex infrastructure, education campuses, hospitals, and joint ventures.

This role requires a seasoned operator with deep experience managing multifaceted, large-scale construction programs, leading high‑performing teams, strengthening client relationships, and supporting business growth. The VP of Operations will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, supporting a culture of accountability and urgency that drives long‑term growth, quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all business operations, including preconstruction, estimating, project management, field operations, safety, quality, scheduling, project controls, and resource allocation.
  • Establish operational strategy aligned with organizational goals, market conditions, and client expectations.
  • Lead crisis response and high-risk situations with clarity, decisiveness, and professionalism.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance and Accounting to achieve company financial goals.
  • Accountable for P&L performance, including margins, cost control, financial accuracy, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-of-sales management.
  • Implement operational policies, performance standards, and best practices with internal teams to ensure consistency and drive continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Review and approve major budget adjustments, operational changes, and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare and present concise weekly operational updates to the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Report on project status, financial performance, backlog and pipeline activity, safety and quality metrics, key risks, staffing needs, decisions required, and corrective‑action plans.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with executive leadership, project teams, clients, and external stakeholders in writing, meetings, and presentations.
  • Strengthen long‑term relationships with senior executive partners, owners, developers, design and joint‑venture partners, and other key stakeholders through consistent delivery, communication, documentation, and responsiveness.
  • Support and actively participate in business‑development efforts by providing operational expertise during strategic pursuits, interviews, and proposal development.
  • Partner with executive leadership to help identify and pursue opportunities that strengthen the company’s pipeline and support profitable growth.
  • Represent the organization within the construction industry and regional market.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high‑performing operational leaders, project managers, project support staff, and field teams.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and a high sense of urgency.
  • Support succession planning and lead performance‑management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and annual reviews.
  • Work alongside and support the Director of Safety and safety department.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, with emphasis on high‑risk activity and local team ownership of results.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee quality assurance/quality‑control programs and drive improvement in safety and quality metrics.
  • Integrate operations, engineering, technology, and customer service to create streamlined, cost‑effective business processes.
  • Apply knowledge of modern construction technologies, including VDC, BIM, Lean planning, scheduling systems, and enterprise resource platforms.
Required Qualifications
