In the AI era, proving who is behind an account or action has become harder, and more important, than ever. Nametag is the workforce identity assurance platform. We verify the real human behind.high-risk workforce actions and return a clear identity decision organizations can trust when credentials and automation are not enough. Everything we do centers on people: our customers, their employees, and the team we are building here.

Remote, US

The Role

The VP of Operations owns the company-wide operating system that turns strategy into coordinated execution. You will connect priorities, investments, resources, and performance across Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Finance, and People so the company moves with speed and cohesion as it scales. This is a hands-on builder role for a highly organized operator who can see around corners, connect dots across functions, and bring clarity to a fast-moving environment. You will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to determine what matters most, keep decisions and commitments moving, and ensure teams stay aligned from product investment through commercial execution while developing consistency across the company for effective and efficient operations.

What You'll Do
  • Company operating rhythm and strategic alignment
    • Run the rhythm of the business, including leadership meetings, company planning, business reviews, and two to three company offsites each year. Translate strategy into a clear portfolio of priorities, decisions, owners, and milestones; track actions through closure. Connect dependencies across functions, surface conflicts early, and help leaders make explicit trade-offs about where the company invests time, talent, and capital.
  • Portfolio prioritization, investment, and resourcing
    • Build and run a disciplined intake and prioritization process for company-level and cross-functional initiatives. In partnership with Finance, define business cases, funding decisions, performance gates, and stop or-scale criteria for key investments. Partner with People/HR on organization design, headcount, contractor, and capability planning aligned to strategy. Maintain a clear view of demand, capacity, cost, and trade-offs so leadership can allocate resources to the highest-impact work.
  • Systems, tools, and scalable infrastructure
    • Assess the tools, data, processes, and operating infrastructure required to scale each function and the company as a whole. Establish clear ownership and standards, improve adoption and data quality, automate recurring work, and retire redundant or low-value tools and processes. Lead change with practical communication and enough flexibility to meet teams where they are.
  • OKRs, performance, and cross-functional execution
    • Own the company OKR process and maintain credible scorecards and dashboards, including definitions, owners, data hygiene, and review cadence. Keep an initiative-level view of priorities, dependencies, risks, decisions, and expected outcomes. Use operational and financial data to identify patterns, challenge assumptions, and recommend action—not simply report status. Step in to drive critical cross-functional programs when focused ownership is needed.
What You'll Bring
  • A highly organized, detail-oriented operating style: you create structure, follow through relentlessly, and can move between company-level context and execution details without losing either.
  • Exceptional ability to connect dots across functions, anticipate downstream implications, and preserve cohesion as priorities shift.
  • Strong prioritization and judgment. You distinguish urgent from important, frame trade-offs clearly, and help teams focus on the few outcomes that matter most.
  • Analytical fluency: you can read operating and financial data, find the signal, and turn it into a decision or recommendation.
  • Clear executive communication: you can compress ambiguity into a concise recommendation, facilitate a decision, and document what happens next.
  • Low-ego influence and the confidence to hold senior peers accountable without formal authority.
  • A self-starting, flexible, high-energy approach; comfort shifting between building systems, facilitating leaders, and solving an urgent execution problem. Sound judgment with sensitive and confidential information.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in business operations, strategy and operations, or a chief of staff role, including direct partnership with executives at a high-growth technology company.
  • A track record of building company operating cadence, planning, OKRs, and cross-functional execution systems—not only running a system someone else built.
  • Fluency in the operating mechanics of a technology business, including budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, resource allocation, and performance metrics.
  • Experience evaluating and improving business systems and tools across functions; familiarity with CRM, BI, planning, and collaboration platforms.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional delivery across Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Finance, and People/HR, including demand and capacity management across competing priorities.
  • Experience owning an operating budget and vendor portfolio. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA is a plus, not required.
  • Experience in a venture-backed startup is strongly preferred; familiarity with security, identity, or SaaS is a plus.
What We Value
  • Intellectual horsepower. Quickly grasping complex technical and business concepts.
  • Kindness and integrity. Earning trust is central to how we build relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Bias for action. We move quickly to deliver impact and protect our customers against fast-moving threats.
  • Ownership mindset. You care about uptime and stability the way a founder cares about the product.
