Machina Cognita Technologies is seeking a Vice President of Research and Development to lead an engineering R&D team and push the boundaries of emerging products. You will supervise, design, and deploy scalable ML/AI systems, while working closely with clients to translate their needs into innovative solutions.

The role is full-time and onsite, based in Northern Virginia or Carlsbad, CA, requiring 10+ years in industry and 5+ years in ML/AI/Autonomy research.

Qualificações

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience.
• 5+ years hands-on research and development in ML/AI/Autonomy.
• 5+ years with Java or Python.
• 5+ years of government contracting, SBIR/STTR, or contract management.
• Military experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise, mentor, and develop an engineering R&D team.
• Architect and deploy scalable ML solutions.
• Drive design discussions and technical direction.
• Build PoC prototypes and client demonstrations to win bids.
• Define engineering best practices and adopt new methodologies.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate client needs.
• Travel to client destinations for delivery and ongoing support.
