Agentic AI Products is hiring a VP of Machine Learning Research to set the strategic direction for agentic AI and large language models. You will build and mentor a high-performance team of researchers and ML engineers, guiding experiments from concept to production in a fast-moving startup environment.

We’re supporting a well-funded AI startup building agentic products that automate everyday tasks and workflows.

They’re looking for a VP of ML Research to set the research direction, build a strong team and translate advances in AI into capabilities that work in real products.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the research strategy for agentic AI and LLM capabilities.

• Build, mentor and lead a team of researchers and ML engineers.

• Guide research into agent reasoning, planning, tool use, memory and task execution.

• Establish rigorous evaluation methods to measure reliability and progress.

• Work closely with engineering and product leaders to move promising research into production.

• Stay close to technical work, helping the team design experiments and solve difficult problems.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in machine learning, with substantial experience working with LLMs.

• Direct experience researching or developing agentic AI systems.

• A strong record of research contributions and turning experimental work into practical applications.

• Experience leading research teams, hiring talent and setting technical direction.

• Strong understanding of model adaptation, evaluation and the trade-offs involved in deploying AI systems.

• Comfortable balancing longer-term research with immediate product priorities in a startup environment.
