Job description

Vice President of Information Technology

Location: Greater Boston | South West, Massachusetts - On-site

The Opportunity

MCS Group is partnering with an established organization operating across secure payments, identity technology and advanced manufacturing to appoint a Vice President of Information Technology for North America.

The company has established core technology platforms and systems across the business. As the organization continues to grow and evolve, there is an opportunity to further integrate and standardize its technology environment, strengthen infrastructure and data management and ensure its systems are positioned to support future growth.

This newly created position will have significant visibility across the organization. The successful candidate will assess the current technology landscape, establish the most important priorities and develop a practical roadmap for the continued modernization of IT across North America.

This is an opportunity for a senior technology leader who enjoys combining strategy with delivery. You will have the autonomy to shape the technology roadmap while remaining close enough to the detail to personally drive its early stages.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assessing the existing technology environment across North American operations.
  • Identifying immediate priorities and developing a phased IT modernization roadmap.
  • Defining and delivering a technology strategy aligned with the organization's commercial and operational goals.
  • Improving the performance, resilience and scalability of the company's Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Reviewing and optimizing ERP and other business-critical platforms.
  • Strengthening integrations and interoperability between enterprise systems.
  • Establishing consistent technology processes, governance frameworks and operational playbooks.
  • Advancing the company's approach to enterprise data architecture, data quality and master data management.
  • Ensuring the technology environment continues to meet PCI DSS and other stringent security requirements.
  • Supporting a highly audited environment handling sensitive payment, identity and customer information.
  • Strengthening business continuity, disaster recovery and system availability.
  • Working closely with executive leadership to translate business priorities into practical technology initiatives.
  • Evaluating the skills and resources required to support the organization's future technology needs.
  • Providing technical direction while remaining actively involved in the delivery of key initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
  • Significant experience leading enterprise IT, infrastructure, architecture or technology transformation.
  • A strong track record of assessing an established technology environment and creating a prioritized improvement roadmap.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems integration and operational resilience.
  • Experience optimizing or transforming ERP and enterprise applications.
  • An understanding of enterprise data architecture, governance and master data management.
  • Experience working within a regulated, highly audited or security-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS would be highly advantageous.
  • The technical depth to evaluate existing systems, guide architectural decisions and personally drive delivery.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting technology across multiple locations or business units.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to establish priorities and take ownership of delivery.

Experience within payments, financial services, fintech, secure identity or another highly regulated industry would be valuable. Manufacturing experience may be beneficial but is not essential.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Take ownership of a high-impact technology modernization programme.
  • Work directly with the organization's executive leadership.
  • Shape the future architecture and direction of an established business.
  • Have the autonomy to assess the environment and determine the right priorities.
  • Combine strategic leadership with meaningful, hands-on delivery.
  • Influence the future structure and capabilities of the IT function.
  • Join a business operating across secure payments, identity technology and advanced manufacturing.
Additional Information

This position is based in the Greater Boston area and requires an on-site presence for a minimum of four days per week.

Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. Due to the secure nature of the environment, employment will be subject to applicable pre-employment screening requirements.
