Job summary

Reynolds Community College in Virginia seeks a visionary VP of Finance and Administration to join the President's Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the President, the VPFA provides executive leadership for financial and administrative operations across multiple campuses, guiding budgeting, human resources, facilities, and safety to support student success.

The role requires strategic financial planning, strong governance, and collaborative leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, higher education administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible executive leadership experience in higher education, government, or another complex public-sector organization.
• Demonstrated success leading organizational change and developing long-term strategic financial plans.
• Experience overseeing complex budgets, financial operations, and administrative services.
• Strong knowledge of public-sector finance, governmental accounting, budgeting, compliance, and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and lead through influence, sound judgment, and strategic thinking.
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and executive leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to the President on institutional strategy, financial sustainability, organizational effectiveness, and operational priorities.
• Partner with the President and Executive Cabinet to advance the College’s strategic plan and institutional goals.
• Lead long-range financial planning, capital planning, and resource allocation strategies.
• Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across administrative operations.
• Anticipate emerging opportunities and challenges and develop proactive strategies that strengthen institutional resilience.
• Collaborate across divisions to ensure administrative operations support teaching, learning, workforce development, and student success.
• Serve as the College Incident Commander and advise the President regarding operational continuity during emergencies and campus closures.
