Job summary

CFS is seeking a Vice President of Finance in Madison, WI, offering a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for its financial strategy across multiple affiliated businesses. The position includes a flex work arrangement, with one day per week remote and ongoing collaboration with senior leadership.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls while guiding capital strategy and financial reporting at the executive level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/BA with accounting emphasis; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, internal controls, cost accounting, and financial modeling.
• Proven leadership and ability to partner with executives and build high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial and operational planning including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, reporting, and internal controls to support growth and profitability.
• Develop long-term financial models and business plans focused on pricing, margins, returns, capital allocation, and risk.
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on banking relationships, lending, credit facilities, and capital strategies.
• Oversee accounting operations, audits, tax reporting, and executive dashboards/KPIs while developing the Finance team.
• Drive process improvements, financial systems enhancements, and AI adoption across affiliated businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial and operational planning, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and internal controls to support growth and profitability.

• Drive process improvements, financial systems enhancements, and AI adoption while collaborating across affiliated businesses to strengthen reporting, operational insights, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an accounting emphasis, or a related field, along with a CPA or CMA designation.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial planning, budgeting, internal controls, cost accounting, and financial modeling.
• Proven leadership and strategic planning experience, with the ability to partner with executives, develop high-performing teams, and translate complex financial data into actionable business decisions. Homebuilding or residential construction experience is a plus.
