Job summary

Travertine, an Industrial Transformation company based in Boulder, CO, seeks a VP of Engineering to lead the engineering function from demonstration to commercial plants. You will build the discipline, team, and processes to design, construct, and operate world-scale mineral production facilities.

You will own strategy, flowsheet development, technoeconomic modeling, EPC/vendor management, budgeting, and translating R&D data into robust designs while maintaining safety and reliability as top

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.
• 20+ years of engineering experience in chemical, hydrometallurgical, industrial process industries.
• Proven track record translating R&D, pilot, and demo results into scalable engineering designs for commercial deployment.
• Experience building and leading internal teams and external partners (EPCs, vendors, consultants).
• Strong cross-functional communication and ability to align stakeholders (R&D, engineering, operations, executives).

Responsibilities

• Own Travertine’s plant engineering roadmap from demo plant to multiple commercial deployments.
• Build systems, standards, and processes for a professional engineering organization.
• Use pilot and demonstration plant data to inform scalable process designs.
• Lead development of process design packages (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances).
• Drive process safety and risk-management practices (HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, PSM).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technology into engineering design.
• Mentor the engineering team and manage internal and external partners.
