Job summary

The University of Arizona Foundation seeks a Vice President for Development to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Program's Development Team in Tucson. The VP will work with UA leadership to set fundraising goals, cultivate major gift prospects, and drive private support across campus.

The role emphasizes building a high-performing team, implementing moves management, and reporting on fundraising metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of major gift fundraising.
• Experience managing development professionals and staff.
• Ability to travel within Arizona and occasionally travel nationally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment, training, coaching, and mentoring development professionals.
• Establish annual fundraising goals and guide strategies aligned with program goals; develop moves management from identification to stewardship.
• Coordinate and execute quarterly team strategy meetings for top open proposals for current fiscal year.
• Identify and implement professional development opportunities with HR and senior staff.
• Ensure accountability for fundraising metrics and document donor interactions in the Lynx CRM.
• Support consistent messaging to meet program goals and processes.
• Collaborate with university leadership and donors to secure private support across campus.
• Represent UA Foundation at events and foster teamwork across a large organization.
