Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a senior data scientist for its Embed Data Analytics team within Internal Audit in New York, NY. You will partner with audit teams to design data-driven solutions, automate repeatable processes, and deliver insights into the firm’s control environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a quantitative field (CS/Math/Stats)
• Strong SQL and database querying skills
• Experience with ETL, data governance, and data quality measures
• Proficiency in Python/Java/C++ and data manipulation
• Comfort communicating complex data findings to audit teams
• Experience building reusable analytical tools for audit testing

Responsibilities

• Perform database related activities: data modeling, engineering, governance, entitlements maintenance
• Gather and manage audit-specific data requirements to support sampling and data integrity
• Develop production-grade analytical tools using Tableau, Spotfire or QlikView
• Execute ETL processes and data extraction/transformation tasks
• Produce data analysis with concise technical narratives on automated controls
• Write data analysis code in Python, Java, or C++
• Identify opportunities for automation and standardization in audit workflows
• Collaborate with audit teams to source data and improve testing efficiency
• Build and maintain relationships with Audit team members
