Schedule: This is an executive leadership role with approximately 30–40% travel to project, field, fabrication, and operating sites.

About the Role

Workspire is partnering with an established, institutionally backed industrial services organization with a significant self-perform electrical construction business. The organization is in a substantial growth phase and is building the systems, leadership structure, and operational consistency needed to scale effectively.

The VP of Construction Quality will lead the development and evolution of the organization’s quality function, with a primary focus on electrical construction and infrastructure. This leader will establish the standards, processes, accountability, and measurement needed to deliver reliable electrical installations, reduce rework and risk, and strengthen customer confidence across a distributed operating environment.

The role requires deep electrical construction expertise and the ability to build a consistent approach to quality from preconstruction and installation through inspection, testing, commissioning, and turnover. This person will partner closely with electrical operations, engineering, project management, field leadership, and commissioning teams to ensure quality is built into each stage of execution.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on executive opportunity for a leader who can move between strategy and field execution. The ideal candidate will enjoy building scalable systems, developing teams, and working directly with electrical superintendents, foremen, and technical specialists to understand issues and drive practical solutions.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Operational Strategy
  • Set the overall electrical quality strategy and establish clear standards and priorities that support continued growth.
  • Build and scale a company‑wide Quality Management System that creates consistency across electrical projects, regions, and operating groups.
  • Partner with senior electrical operations, engineering, technical, safety, and commissioning leaders to embed quality into business planning and day‑to‑day execution.
  • Establish clear ownership, performance expectations, and continuous‑improvement practices for electrical quality across the organization.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing quality organization, including regional quality leaders, electrical inspectors, and technical specialists.
  • Use quality performance data to connect electrical workmanship, system reliability, and project readiness to cost, schedule, risk, customer experience, and business results.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for significant electrical quality concerns, maintaining customer trust through clear communication and timely resolution.
Electrical Quality & Field Execution
  • Establish practical quality plans, inspection and test procedures, documentation requirements, and verification standards for electrical construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop quality requirements for electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, cabling, terminations, grounding and bonding, controls, and other project‑specific electrical systems.
  • Support project teams during preconstruction and startup by reviewing electrical quality requirements, identifying execution risks, and establishing inspection checkpoints and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee field inspections, quality audits, electrical prefabrication quality programs, and verification of installed work against approved drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Ensure electrical work aligns with applicable codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code, relevant NFPA requirements, customer specifications, and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with safety and field leadership to align quality verification activities with applicable electrical safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Verify that electrical testing and commissioning requirements are clearly defined, properly documented, and coordinated with project schedules and readiness for energization.
  • Ensure required inspection records, test results, deficiency closeouts, as‑built documentation, and turnover packages are complete and support customer acceptance.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned to address recurring electrical installation, testing, and commissioning issues.
  • Develop meaningful quality metrics and reporting that provide visibility into electrical defects, rework, inspection results, testing performance, and project readiness.
  • Engage directly with electrical superintendents, foremen, project teams, and commissioning personnel when complex quality challenges arise, helping remove obstacles and drive practical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
  • 12+ years of progressive quality leadership experience, with substantial experience in electrical construction, electrical contracting, or electrical infrastructure delivery.
  • Deep technical knowledge of self‑perform electrical construction and the quality requirements associated with installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Experience leading electrical quality across multiple locations, projects, regions, or operating groups.
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, or significantly improving a Quality Management System in an electrical construction or closely related environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems, installation practices, applicable codes and standards, and inspection and testing requirements.
  • Experience overseeing electrical quality from field installation through commissioning and customer acceptance, including the documentation needed to verify readiness and close out deficiencies.
  • Ability to translate technical electrical requirements into practical processes that superintendents, foremen, craft employees, and project teams can consistently execute.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect quality performance to cost, schedule, risk, customer experience, and operational results.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, drive accountability, and create meaningful cultural change across a distributed organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with the executive presence to represent the quality function at the highest levels.
  • Experience in a high‑growth, private‑equity‑backed, or operationally complex environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting mission‑critical electrical, industrial electrical, or energy infrastructure projects is preferred.
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or similar quality credentials are preferred.
  • Relevant electrical inspection, testing, commissioning, or electrical safety training and credentials are also preferred.
Why This Role Stands Out
