Job summary

AstraZeneca seeks a VP, Head of AI Enterprise Process and Innovation Centre (EPIC) to lead AI strategy across enabling units, enterprise processes, user experience, and learning & development. This executive will drive MVP AI solutions, scale transformation, and partner across IT, business functions, and HR to ensure adoption and value realization.

The role requires strong leadership, deep AI/ML expertise, and ability to navigate a matrix organisation while delivering measurable enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related technical field.
• Advanced degree (Master's/MBA) preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in a large organisation.
• Proven track record of implementing AI/ML automation solutions in enterprise environments.
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in workflow optimization, process improvement, or digital transformation roles.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or highly regulated industries.
• Strong background in change management methodologies and organizational transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of comprehensive workflow optimization strategies aligned with operational excellence and digital transformation.
• Collaborate extensively with EAI teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration across boundaries.
• Drive design, development, and deployment of AI-powered automation to eliminate operational toil and bottlenecks.
• Establish analytics frameworks to measure cycle time, quality, adoption and satisfaction.
• Drive change management and provide white-glove support for new processes and technologies.
• Develop and maintain playbooks and best practices for reuse and scalability.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of workflow specialists, agile engineers, and change managers.
• Maintain relationships with enabling leaders, scientists, clinicians, field teams, and business leaders to deliver targeted solutions.
• Continuously improve workflows to maximize ROI.
