Job summary

Onni Group in Phoenix is seeking a VP of Accounting to lead the Corporate Accounting function and drive transformation across multifamily, commercial, hospitality, and food & beverage portfolios. This role partners with IT and Enterprise Systems to modernize close cycles, reporting, and controls, leveraging AI-enabled tools and data analytics.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting with leadership, GAAP expertise, and a proven track record in automation and cross-functional

Qualifications

Requires 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with strong GAAP knowledge.
Proven ability to lead processes and partner with finance and executive leadership.
Experience advancing accounting operations through automation, data analytics, and emerging technology.
Experience with multi-entity consolidations and complex financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Corporate Accounting team at the Phoenix office.
Oversee month, quarter, and year-end close across all business lines.
Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness.
Champion automation, AI-enabled tools, and data analytics in reporting.
Partner with IT and Enterprise Systems on system upgrades (Yardi Voyager, Power BI, Azure Data Lake).
Mentor, develop, and build bench strength; manage relationships with auditors and banking partners.
