AIR Communities is seeking an accomplished, strategic Vice President of Accounting to report to the Chief Accounting Officer. This leader will oversee critical accounting functions, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, strengthen governance, and modernize accounting operations through process improvement, automation, and scalable practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA is required.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including public company and SEC reporting.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated success leading large, multi-functional accounting organizations and developing leaders.
• Experience leading external audits and managing relationships with auditors and regulatory stakeholders.
• Proven ability to drive organizational change, process improvement, automation, and accounting transformation initiatives.

Responsabilités

• Lead accounting leadership and strategy with the Chief Accounting Officer and senior leadership.
• Oversee SEC reporting (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX.
• Oversee real estate accounting, capital expenditures, debt and treasury accounting, cash management, AP, and month-/quarter-/year-end close.
• Drive transformation and process improvement to simplify processes and enable automation.
• Partner with auditors, Blackstone, and business leaders on complex accounting matters and significant transactions.
• Lead and develop accounting teams to sustain a high-performing culture.
