Job summary

Lincoln Financial Group in Radnor, PA, seeks a seasoned VP of Mergers & Acquisitions – Reinsurance to lead strategic transactions and portfolio alignment. You will drive deal sourcing, due diligence, and integration across actuarial, finance, risk, tax, and legal teams.

The role requires 12+ years in M&A or corporate development and 5+ years in senior management, with a strong strategic mindset and outstanding communication skills. Hybrid work and a comprehensive rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Executes deals and negotiates terms with legal counsel.
  • Coordinates with actuarial, finance, risk, tax, operations, and legal teams.
  • Leads operational integration to onboard transactions into ongoing operations.
  • Advises senior leadership on strategic M&A opportunities.
  • Mentors and develops team members.

What you'll be doing
  • Contributes to the M&A function's strategy, goals, and operating approach, supporting alignment with Lincoln's enterprise business plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Provides M&A thoughtleadership and technicalexpertise particularly in life and annuity reinsurance to drive improved financial and business results.
  • Evaluates complex economic trends and market conditions affecting the financial services and insurance industry to inform short- and long-term M&A strategy.
  • Supports the end-to-end evaluation of merger, acquisition, divestiture, and reinsurance opportunities, including analysis of the target's business strategy, financial profile, actuarial assumptions, capital implications, technology platform, and organizational fit toidentifysynergies and risks.
  • Manages transaction project management across due diligence, financial and capital analysis, scoping, closing, integration, and ongoing transition planning.
  • Executes deals and negotiates business and economic terms, partnering with legal counsel tofinalizereinsurance agreements and related transaction documents.
  • Evaluates reinsurance structures and counterparties, weighing strategic fit, economics, reserve and capital impacts, operational readiness, counterparty risk, and alignment with enterprise risk tolerances.
  • Coordinates actuarial, finance, risk, tax, operations, and legal experts to translate transactionobjectivesinto coordinated deal terms, reinsurance provisions, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Leads operational integration by partnering across the enterprise to onboard transactions, operationalize new business and reinsurance arrangements, and transition deals from closing into integrated business operations or ongoing reinsurance administration.
  • Advisessenior leadership on strategic M&A opportunities and how they support enterpriseobjectives.
  • Mentors anddevelopsteam members, providing guidance, visibility, and growth opportunities across direct and cross-functionalreporting relationships.
What we’re looking for

Must-Haves

  • 12+ Years experience in mergers and acquisitions or corporate development that directly aligns to the specific responsibilities of this position.
  • 5+ Years of senior management experience in a large complex organization including influencing senior management and critical stakeholder responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex,enterprise wideinitiatives involving multiple business and functional areas
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship management skills

The pay range for this position is $216,750 - $346,800 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
