Morgan Stanley in New York is seeking a Vice President desk-facing risk manager to lead coverage of North America Power and Gas (NAPG) risk within Commodities Market Risk Management. You will monitor markets, analyze complex trades, challenge traders, and develop risk tools to support P&L analysis.

The role requires deep NA Power & Gas expertise, strong knowledge of VaR, stress testing and capital concepts, and excellent communication skills to present risks to senior management.

Qualifications

• Advanced North America Power and Gas experience is required.
• Understanding of VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis and capital concepts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to present risk insights.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor markets and measure impact on NAPG risk, analyzing trades and strategies.
• Challenge traders and managers; escalate risks to senior risk managers as needed.
• Develop tools to support risk and P&L analysis and maintain risk models.
• Review and adapt risk limits and reporting framework for new trades and market conditions.
• Mentor and develop junior risk managers on the desk.
