Job summary

CREA, LLC, a national LIHTC syndicator, seeks a Vice President to lead underwriting for affordable housing investments in Indianapolis. You will evaluate financial models, market data, and risk factors, guiding senior decision-makers through closing and funding.

This role requires eight+ years in real estate or LIHTC, deep Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with lenders, developers, and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of eight years in multifamily real estate, affordable housing, LIHTC syndication, or related fields.
• Experience underwriting LIHTC or similar complex transactions with independent recommendations.
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance, LIHTC regulations, and financing structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting for LIHTC investments from screening to closing.
• Independently manage a portfolio of active transactions with deadlines.
• Evaluate financial models, budgets, operating pro formas, and market data.
• Prepare underwriting memoranda and investment recommendations.
• Collaborate with originators, developers, lenders, and attorneys to execute transactions.
