Job summary

GoWest Credit Union Association in Oregon is seeking a Vice President, Legislative Affairs to strategize and lead credit union advocacy efforts in Oregon. The role requires proven competency in strategic thinking, plan development, and execution.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in political science or related field, 5–7 years in lobbying or public policy, and at least 3 years working with the state legislature.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in political science or related field.
• Five to seven years in lobbying, public policy, or grassroots coordination.
• Three years minimum experience with the state legislature.
• Strong strategic thinking, planning and execution skills.
• Experience with financial institutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for credit union interests before Oregon State Legislature and executives.
• Lead lobbying strategies with staff and contract lobbyists.
• Develop and advance legislation in collaboration with teams and task forces.
• Build relationships with state officials and legislators.
• Oversee budgets and grassroots programs to support elections.
• Serve as envoy for members and represent at meetings.
