  • Texas bar admission preferred.
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review, negotiate and draft service agreements with customers to meet contracting requirements.
  • Review, negotiate and draft vendor agreements to meet contracting requirements.
  • Review, negotiate and draft real estate agreements to meet contracting requirements.
  • Provide advice on internal risks and liabilities relating to operations, sales and procurement.
  • Mentor staff attorneys and supervise 2 staff attorneys.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal, legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Frequent interaction with internal/external customers, vendors, landlords, and external counsel.

Job description

This position is responsible for managing and mentoring Staff Attorneys, supporting field operations and corporate in legal evaluations, monitoring sensitive risk/financial related data for trending, and evaluating legal/contractual documents for compliance with terms and conditions. This position reports to the EVP Risk.

Looking for a strong background in contracts/legal agreements.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Have to have strong transactional experience as you will be constantly reviewing contracts
  • Will supervise 2 staff attorneys
  • Real Estate contracts experience is a plus but not absolutely necessary
  • Review, negotiate and draft service agreements between company and customers to ensure terms and conditions meet the company’s contracting requirements.
  • Review, negotiate and draft vendor agreements to ensure terms and conditions meet the company’s contracting requirements.
  • Review, negotiate and draft real estate agreements to ensure terms and conditions meet the company’s contracting requirements.
  • Provide advice on internal risks and liabilities relating to general operations, sales and procurement related matters.
  • Stay abreast of relevant legal, legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Frequent interaction with internal and external customers, vendors, landlords, and others along with external counsel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and responsibilities:
  • College law degree with experience in handling corporate legal work, including commercial and transactional matters required, experience in labor and employment matters a plus.
  • Admission to Texas bar preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) year to seven (7) years’ experience required.
  • Experience in either transportation or financial services industries a plus.
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Practical team player with the ability to professionally collaborate in a results-oriented environment.
  • Excellent technical skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Database management (Access) and use of Excel pivot tables a plus.
  • Experience in an environment that requires multi-tasking and strong organizational skills, required.
  • Proven communication skills both written and oral.
