Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 8+ years of commercial real estate experience, preferably with significant retail leasing exposure.
• Experience handling sophisticated leasing transactions, development projects, acquisitions, and portfolio management matters.
• Background with a commercial real estate company, REIT, developer, owner/operator, national retailer, or leading law firm real estate practice preferred.
• Strong business judgment and the ability to effectively partner with executives and operational teams.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex transactions and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and advise on a wide range of commercial real estate agreements, including retail leases, lease amendments, ground leases, easements, estoppels, SNDAs, and related transaction documents.
• Provide legal support for development, redevelopment, acquisition, disposition, and financing matters.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on day-to-day operational, leasing, and strategic business matters.
• Manage outside counsel and oversee legal matters across a diverse real estate portfolio.
• Advise senior leadership on legal risk, business strategy, and transaction execution.
• Support cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle of commercial real estate projects.
