Job summary

Taylor Morrison Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Vice President, Land Development to lead the Land Development Team through engineering, entitlement and development processes to supply the Division with timely developed lots.

This role requires strong leadership, business acumen and negotiation skills; you will supervise land acquisition escrows and title work, coordinate with land planners, engineers and contractors, and develop an annual strategic land plan with Division leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ten years of experience in land development.
  • Strong leadership and staff development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong negotiation and budgeting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop land committee package for presentation to the Investment Committee.
  • Supervise land acquisition escrows and title work.
  • Coordinate with Land Planners, Engineers and Contractors to ensure on-time land development within budget.
  • Negotiate land development contracts with vendors, trades and contractors.
  • Direct land development activities internally and in the field.
  • Create an annual strategic land plan with Division leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary As a Vice President, Land Development working for Taylor Morrison you will manage the Land Development Team through the engineering, entitlement and development processes needed to supply the Division with timely developed lots. You will work collaboratively with all functional peers as a member of the Division Leadership Team.

Job Details
  • Develop land committee package for presentation to the Investment Committee
  • Supervise land acquisition escrows and title work
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the Land Planners, Engineers, and Contractors to ensure land development on time and at or under budget
  • Negotiate land development contracts with various vendors, trades and contractors
  • Direct land development activities both internally as well as in the field
  • Utilize general market research focusing on regional employment, demographics, sales volume, and competition levels
  • In collaboration with Division leadership team, create an annual strategic land plan to support the Division’s overall strategic plan
  • You are willing to perform other duties as assigned

  • About you: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or meet the minimum requirement for number of years of direct experience
  • Minimum ten years of experience in land development

  • Concise writing and public speaking/presentation skills are desirable

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement
