Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited seeks an experienced Information Security Officer (ISO) in New York to lead day-to-day governance and continuous improvement of the Americas Division’s information security and cybersecurity program. The role translates enterprise requirements into an effective operating program under the CISO.

Working under the CISO, you will coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance, manage risk assessments, and drive remediation across technology and third-party

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Information Security related experience, IT Audit experience preferred.
• Certification in Information Security (CISSP or CISM) required.
• Strong knowledge of Information Security principles, terminologies, and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Information Risk Management framework and principles.
• Ability to analyze and design information security policy, procedures, and activities.
• Experience with regulatory expectations, NYDFS/FRBNY exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and continuously improve the Americas Division information security and cybersecurity program, including policies, standards, procedures, control requirements, and evidence repositories.
• Translate directorate direction and regulatory expectations into actionable objectives and measurable deliverables.
• Maintain policies lifecycle and ensure stakeholder coordination, approvals, and publication.
• Coordinate with Head Office and US affiliates to uphold the US-level risk framework.
• Support incident response coordination with Security Operations and Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in laws and emerging threats and update the program accordingly.
• Oversee risk assessments for products, cloud services, third parties, and AI use cases.
• Ensure effectiveness of key cybersecurity controls and evidence collection for audits.
