Job summary

The role requires 12+ years in life insurance actuarial work,/SP preferred FSA, and strong leadership with exceptional communication.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive actuarial experience within the life insurance industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) strongly preferred; ASA with substantial leadership experience may be considered
  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred but not required
  • Deep understanding of Annuity products, how they are sold, illustrated, and managed Inforce.
  • Strong actuarial foundation with demonstrated ability to connect experience analysis to business outcomes
  • Proven ability to drive decisions
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Highly consultative, with confidence to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial and risk narrative for Annuity Inforce blocks across Variable Annuity, RILA, FIA, MYGA, and payout products
  • Drive management decisions by synthesizing Inforce analysis, earnings drivers, fee and spread dynamics, and emerging risks while balancing customer expectations and brand/regulatory considerations
  • Partner with Product, Finance, Capital Markets, Risk, and FP&A to influence pricing actions, crediting strategies, hedging posture, and capital deployment
  • Lead segmentation and deep-dive analyses to identify profit opportunities, risk concentrations, and behavior trends
  • Serve as the primary actuarial advisor on Inforce profitability, sustainability, and risk trade-offs
  • Analytics & Insight Lead Inforce projected earnings analysis, plan, and other forward-looking projections
  • Own fee, spread, NGE, renewal rate, and capital market sensitivity analysis for Annuity Inforce
  • Oversee stress testing and scenario analysis producing exposure results quarterly and leading conversations across the enterprise on drivers of change
  • Translate technical outputs into executive-ready insights, implications, and recommended actions
  • Oversee the experience studies team for Life and Annuity business
  • Chair the Product Management Committee and Assumption Review Committee
  • Act as the single point of accountability for Annuity Inforce performance insight
  • Empower teams to make decisions while setting clear strategic direction and guardrails
  • Develop talent that offers business expertise, leadership, and that builds confidence throughout the enterprise in their work
  • Elevate discussions from “what happened” to “what should we do next”
  • Influence senior leadership through clear storytelling, trade‑off framing, and decision memos

Job description

Job Description: We’re actively seeking a VP, Inforce Management - Annuity to join our Consumer Markets Division in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. This role follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office (on-site). If you are not currently located near one of our offices, we offer comprehensive relocation assistance. Occasional travel may be required for this role, generally no more than 3-4 times per year, primarily for team meetings, training, or business-related activities. This is a senior, strategic actuarial leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance across annuity products and translating complex Inforce analytics into clear business decisions. This role emphasizes forward-looking insight, economic stewardship, and executive decision support.

How you’ll help move us forward…

Base Salary Range: $245,000 - $275,000+
Base Pay Range: The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
