Job summary

Hydrogen UK Ltd. seeks a VP, Preconstruction for North America to steer the full preconstruction lifecycle for hyperscale data centers across multiple NA sites, including Denver, Phoenix, Santa Clara, or Ashburn. The role requires executive leadership, power feasibility, and active collaboration with utilities and partners.

Responsibilities include strategy, design coordination, budgeting, risk management, and ensuring readiness for accelerated delivery. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Real Estate, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead North American preconstruction strategy, standards, and delivery models.
• Build repeatable processes supporting hyperscale deployments, campus expansion, and multi‑phase development.
• Lead site validation and due diligence, emphasizing power availability and utility coordination.
• Oversee environmental, zoning, entitlement, and permitting activities.
• Validate sites for power capacity, phased expansion, and high‑density infrastructure readiness.
• Lead campus master planning, early design coordination, and basis‑of‑design development.
• Ensure designs support high rack densities, liquid-cooling readiness, AI infrastructure requirements.
• Establish cost models, budgets, schedules, benchmarks, and risk‑management processes.
• Balance cost, speed‑to‑market, scalability, and delivery certainty.
• Ensure projects transition into construction with defined scope, budgets, and permits.
• Partner with real estate, development, design, construction, operations, commercial, and finance teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering/Real Estate

Advanced degree preferred
