Vice President, Global Corporate Controller

Location: New York, NY (On-site)

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Overview:

A dynamic, global logistics company—backed by a premier private equity firm—is seeking a VP, Global Corporate Controller to lead its global accounting function. The company supports high-profile international operations across entertainment, sports, and specialty freight sectors, and has recently undergone a strategic transaction positioning it for accelerated growth.

This role is ideal for a seasoned CPA with a strong foundation in public accounting, deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and a track record of building and scaling accounting teams in complex, multi-entity environments. The Controller will be a key finance leader and business partner, owning global accounting operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring financial integrity at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all global accounting operations including general ledger, monthly close, and internal controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Manage the external audit process and interface with auditors.
• Oversee tax compliance across domestic and international jurisdictions in partnership with external advisors.
• Develop and enforce corporate accounting policies and procedures.
• Drive process improvements and scalability initiatives aligned with company growth.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and implement new standards as needed.
• Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, including integrations and ad hoc analyses.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team.

Qualifications:

• CPA required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Top 10 firm).
• Prior controllership experience in a global, multi-entity business.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, audit processes, and tax regulations.
• Proven leadership of accounting teams (5+ direct reports).
• Experience within PE-backed, fast-paced environments preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
• Must be based in New York City.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 + bonus
