Leading writer of Property & Casualty Reinsurance seeking a strategic VP, Global Claims Operations in their NY office managing and overseeing their global Claims Operations team. This is a 4 day per week in office position (with a flex work from home day) located in midtown Manhattan very close to all major transportation hubs. The potential of working some days in the New Jersey office also exists.

The VP, Global Claims Operations will lead the global claims operations function, setting the strategic direction and driving operational excellence across all regions. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping the future of claims processing, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with deep industry expertise, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and delivering measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Define and execute the global strategy for claims operations in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Serve as a key advisor to claims leadership on claims operational performance, risk, and innovation.
• Champion a culture of excellence, accountability, and customer-centricity across all claims operations team

Operational Oversight & Optimization

• Oversee global claims operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and effective delivery of services and performance within agreed service level
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable processes, systems, and tools to support growth and operational agility.
• Utilize data and analytics to drive performance improvements, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
• Build and lead a high-performing global team, fostering professional development and succession planning.
• Set clear performance expectations and provide coaching and mentorship for claims operations team
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and across the broader organization.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Act as the primary liaison between Claims Operations and key internal stakeholders, including Claims, IT, Compliance, and Finance.
• Partner with regional Claims leaders to ensure alignment on service delivery, priorities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Represent Claims Operations in cross-functional forums and strategic initiatives.

Innovation & Technology Enablement

• Drive the adoption of emerging technologies and automation to enhance claims processing and reporting.
• Lead transformation initiatives that improve customer experience, reduce cycle times, and increase operational resilience.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory developments to ensure proactive adaptation.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in claims operations, preferably within the reinsurance or insurance industry.
• Proven track record of leading global teams and driving operational transformation.
• Deep understanding of reinsurance claims, Lloyd’s Market processes, and B2B e-messaging.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in claims management systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
