Job summary

BNY Mellon in Westborough, MA seeks a Vice President, Full-Stack Developer to join the Fund Accounting and Investor Solutions Platform team. You will own end-to-end development of scalable, multi-tier applications, from architecture and UI to CI/CD, with production monitoring.

You will design RESTful APIs and microservices, ensure performance and secure coding, drive platform resiliency, contribute to technical strategy, and mentor teammates while embracing agile practices and AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of professional full-stack development experience across backend and frontend.
• Backend: Java 17+ with Spring/Spring Boot; microservices architecture; REST API design.
• Frontend: Angular 14+ or React/JavaScript with modern UI patterns and state management.
• Messaging: Kafka; Testing: JUnit/Mockito; code quality tools like SonarQube; familiarity with TDD/BDD.
• DevOps/CI-CD: Git/GitLab, Docker, IaC; blue-green/feature-flag releases.
• Observability: logging, metrics, tracing; Splunk or similar tools.
• Data: MongoDB or NoSQL; data modeling for microservices.
• Agile/Scrum and collaboration tools (JIRA/Confluence).
• Experience in AI-assisted development tools (Copilot/Claude/Cursor/Windsurf).

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end, scalable, multi-tier applications with architecture/design, testing, CI/CD, deployment and production support.
• Translate business needs into robust technical solutions; collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize work and deliver.
• Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices; ensure performance, reliability, observability, and secure coding within UI layers.
• Drive platform resiliency with runbooks, on-call readiness, logging/metrics/tracing, and rapid incident response.
• Champion engineering excellence: coding standards, code reviews, static analysis, test coverage, release discipline; mentor teammates.
• Integrate AI and emerging technologies to enhance client and employee experiences and speed delivery.
• Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap; influence patterns for event-driven systems, caching, and distributed services.
