Job summary

SMBC Group is hiring a Vice President in the Legal Department to support the Trade Transaction Management group. The role focuses on supporting the bank’s fixed income trading and derivatives documentation, especially repurchase agreements.

You will draft, review and negotiate master agreements and related documents, liaise with internal stakeholders, and advise the business on complex terms. A hybrid work model is offered with office and remote options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with expertise on Repurchase Agreement and related documentation.
• Strong communication skills: ability to convey complex terms to internal stakeholders clearly.
• Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate legal trading documentation for fixed income and derivatives.
• Focus on repurchase agreements and related documentation.
• Liaise with sales, trading, credit, risk, management and operations on terms and escalations.
• Advise business on complex documentation issues.
