Overview

Position Title: Vice President, Financial Operations

Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Head of Treasury & Accounting, with executive oversight from the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid, determined by candidate location and business needs on a case-by-case basis.

General Purpose: Responsible for leading the Payment Operations function and overseeing transaction processing for a global CFD brokerage and cryptocurrency exchange.

Responsibilities
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Use defined KPIs to manage timely and accurate payment processing across all supported products, markets, and jurisdictions.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Improve payment success rates and reduce payment-related churn through strategic payment initiatives, optimized payment offerings, and improved transaction routing.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Maintain payment infrastructure and Payment Service Provider (PSP) availability to achieve 99.9% uptime by jurisdiction.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Ensure timely and accurate reporting of payment processing expenses, including PSP fees, settlement costs, and related operational charges.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Proactively manage PSP relationships, maintenance windows, and service changes to minimize customer impact.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Increase automation of payment processing activities in line with agreed quarterly targets.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Strategically manage payment routes to reduce settlement costs and overall PSP expenses.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Mentor and manage a globally distributed Financial Operations team to maintain consistent performance, accountability, and service standards.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Provide clear and timely communication to senior management on Financial Operations performance, risks, incidents, and strategic initiatives.
  • Specific Objectives (12 months): Manage chargeback and dispute processing within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Key Activities: Measure, monitor, and report the performance of each payment processor against agreed operational KPIs.
  • Key Activities: Continually assess team capability, coach team members, and support ongoing performance improvement.
  • Key Activities: Resolve payment functionality issues and address complex operational or program-related issues.
  • Key Activities: Maintain payment and order processing workflows according to established priorities.
  • Key Activities: Drive achievement of agreed qualitative and quantitative operational targets.
  • Key Activities: Analyze payment operations statistics and compile accurate performance reports.
  • Key Activities: Coordinate with development and technology teams to continually improve the customer payment experience.
  • Key Activities: Manage escalations requiring additional research, cross-functional coordination, and subject matter expertise.
  • Key Activities: Identify the most relevant payment methods for each project based on country, customer segment, and transaction cost.
  • Key Activities: Supervise technical integrations with Payment Service Providers (PSPs).

  • Experience in a CFD brokerage, Payment Service Provider (PSP), or cryptocurrency exchange environment preferred.
  • Likely Current Job: Senior Payment Operations Manager, Head of Payments, Financial Operations Director, Payments Lead, or similar roles within a CFD brokerage, cryptocurrency exchange, PSP, fintech, online trading platform, or other high-risk payment environment.
