Job summary

Sawnee EMC is seeking a strategic leader for the Vice President, Special Projects and Emerging Technologies role in Georgia. You will guide the development and implementation of special projects, assess emerging energy technologies, and collaborate with the COO and senior leaders on energy efficiency, renewables, and load forecasting.

The position requires engineering and business/finance expertise, 10+ years in electric utilities, and strong program management skills to advance power resource

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and advanced degree in business, finance or related field.
  • Ten or more years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, construction, or operations within electric utilities or engineering consulting.
  • Familiarity with electric utility transmission, station, distribution, planning, and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as leader for special projects and emerging technologies.
  • Assist COO and executive team with strategies for energy efficiency, renewables, load forecasting, and power procurement.
  • Lead long‑term power supply strategy and review contracts and capacity planning.
  • Develop and oversee energy services programs and projects; stay current on industry standards.
  • Coordinate department activities and manage budgets; ensure timely records and ethical conduct.
