Job summary

The Paley Center for Media seeks a strategic VP, Development to lead fundraising across NYC and LA. You will shape and execute plans to raise substantial contributed income, build donor networks, and grow memberships with a strong, analytics-driven approach.

You will manage a premier development team, collaborate with senior leadership, and ensure compelling, high-impact donor experiences across programs, festivals, and education initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience raising at least $10 million annually in contributed income.
• Deep knowledge of NY and LA fundraising communities with key relationships.
• Knowledge of media and communications industry and leaders.
• Strong personal network to build donor relationships across sectors.
• Strategic command of prospect research, proposals, and stewardship.
• Proficiency with AI-powered fundraising tools, data analytics, and predictive modeling.
• Experience preparing budgets and managing record-keeping and fulfillment.
• Energetic, proactive, and highly organized with leadership ability.
• Engaging communication style and ability to work with all levels.
• Entrepreneurial leadership to train and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Strong work ethic and preference for in-person collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree; Spanish bilingualism a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development operation and fundraising strategy for NYC and LA.
• Grow corporate, patron, and individual memberships and major gifts.
• Expand funding from foundations, government, sponsorships, and gifts.
• Maintain donor pipelines with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
