Job summary

Morgan Stanley’s Firmwide Developer Tools group (MSDE) is seeking a hands-on Developer Engagement Engineer in New York. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, developer experience, and AI coding tool adoption, helping 25,000+ developers use agentic AI effectively and safely in real workflows.

This Vice President level position partners with engineering leaders, risk, and product teams to scale adoption, run demos and enablement sessions, and create practical guidance.

Qualifications

• Software development experience with exposure to modern engineering workflows (PRs, CI/CD, developer tooling).
• Practical experience with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, Claude Code).
• Ability to evaluate where AI tools add value — and where they introduce risk.
• Familiarity with enterprise SDLC practices or regulated technology environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engage Developers: Run demos, workshops, office hours, enablement sessions.
• Drive Practical Adoption: Develop guidance for responsible use of AI coding tools and identify blockers.
