Job summary

Galaxy in New York is seeking a De-Fi/OnChain Attorney to provide expert legal counsel on decentralized finance issues, including compliance, commercial transactions, and governance matters. You should thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

You will draft and negotiate agreements related to token purchases, staking, and other digital asset transactions, collaborate with product, engineering and business teams, and stay ahead of industry and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge of blockchain space and DeFi protocols.
• Extensive transactional experience in top-tier law firms or crypto-focused companies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic legal advisor on OnChain and DeFi negotiations, focusing on staking, validation, and tokenization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate token purchase agreements, staking/validation agreements, token liquidity arrangements, token grant agreements, and related digital asset docs.
• Provide legal insights on regulatory landscapes affecting DeFi and cryptocurrency projects.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in a rapidly evolving DeFi ecosystem.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Coordinate resources for negotiations and manage outside counsel when appropriate.
• Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements.
• Address IP, data privacy, and governance issues within DeFi structures.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory updates.
• Manage workflow in a dynamic environment and remain accountable to leadership.
