At Banc of California, we are seeking a Data Platform Architect & Modeler to design, validate, and optimize data models supporting analytics, reporting, and operational needs. The role involves building and maintaining data models aligned with business requirements, with experience in Snowflake, dbt, DataOps, and DevOps supporting our cloud data strategy.

Responsibilities include:

1. Data Modeling & Architecture: Design and maintain data models, optimize in Snowflake, utilize dbt, establish data standards, and ensure compliance with regulations.
2. Prototyping & Solution Exploration: Develop prototypes, evaluate tools and techniques, and collaborate on new methodologies.
3. Data Observability, DataOps, & DevOps: Implement monitoring tools, automate data quality, support CI/CD pipelines, and resolve data issues.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work with business and technical teams to meet reporting needs and ensure data quality standards.
5. Technology & Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, evaluate new tools, and support enterprise data platform modernization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years in data modeling, architecture, or database design.
• 6-8 years experience in financial services (banking preferred).
• Hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, data observability tools.
• Experience with DataOps and DevOps practices.
• Expertise in dimensional and relational data modeling.
• Proficient in SQL and query optimization.
• Knowledge of data governance, quality, and metadata management.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data transformation tools.
• Knowledge of Python, Spark, or similar tools.
