Job description

As Vice President of Data Operations, you will own the strategy, operating model and performance of HealthVerity data lifecycle, spanning data acquisition, integration, onboarding, production availability, and ongoing operational health. You will lead the teams responsible for bringing data into and through the nation’s largest healthcare and consumer data ecosystem and making it available for client and business use quickly and reliably.

You will continuously improve how we onboard and operate data, creating scalable, repeatable processes with clear ownership, seamless cross-functional handoffs, strong quality controls, and increasing levels of automation. You will set the operational metrics and accountability that expose bottlenecks and improve speed, quality, reliability and first-time-right outcomes.

Working closely with Engineering, Product, Delivery, Client Services, Privacy and Sales, you will tie data operations to client outcomes and revenue. You will oversee complex, business-critical initiatives and issues, build an organization that solves problems at their source, serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership and as a thought leader across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, operating model and performance of our Data Management function, with full accountability for data assets from acquisition and onboarding through production availability, recurring refreshes and ongoing operational health.
  • Drive measurable improvements in speed to warehouse availability, data quality, operational reliability, and time to revenue, establishing clear KPIs and accountability for achieving these outcomes.
  • Continuously improve the end-to-end data onboarding process so it is efficient, scalable and repeatable, driving automation across acquisition, onboarding, quality monitoring and production operations to reduce manual effort, eliminate bottlenecks and increase first-time-right outcomes.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms, ownership, decision rights and escalation paths across the teams involved in the data lifecycle, along with monitoring and root-cause remediation practices that proactively identify risks, minimize customer and business impact and prevent recurring issues.
  • Lead and develop the Integrations, Data Onboarding, and Data Operations teams, supporting a high-performing organization and leadership structure centered on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee development.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Client Services, Privacy, Data Partnerships and other stakeholders to establish priorities, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, and ensure Data Management capabilities align with client and business needs.
  • Provide executive leadership with regular visibility into the onboarding portfolio and production operations, including performance against KPIs, risks, dependencies, capacity constraints and areas requiring leadership action.
  • Establish effective capacity planning and prioritization across new data onboarding, ongoing production operations, client commitments, technical debt, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build organizational expertise in healthcare data, data stewardship, data quality, and the interpretation and operationalization of complex healthcare datasets.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in which teams identify systemic root causes, implement sustainable solutions, automate controls where possible, and continually improve how data is onboarded and operated.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • 10+ years in data or technology, including senior leadership of complex, large-scale data environments.
  • Ownership of end-to-end data operations, from acquisition and ingestion through production availability, including complex integrations with third‑party data suppliers.
  • Deep knowledge of modern data platforms: ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT, warehousing, orchestration, data quality, and observability.
  • Track record of building operating models, processes, and org structures at scale, and of driving automation that measurably improves efficiency, quality, or speed to market.
  • Experience setting operational metrics and running incident management, root‑cause analysis, and remediation to manage performance, capacity, and service levels.
  • Skilled in prioritizing competing demands across onboarding, production operations, client commitments, technical debt, and strategic work.
  • Experience with healthcare or pharmaceutical data and its quality and operational requirements strongly preferred.
  • Business acumen that connects operational performance to client outcomes, revenue and broader company objectives.
  • Proven change leadership, sound judgment in ambiguity, and the ability to turn technical topics into clear executive recommendations.
  • Technically fluent and hands‑on when needed, with the judgment to know when to dive in and when to empower teams to execute.

Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $220,000 - 285,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
