Job summary

State Street is seeking a Senior Data Lakehouse Architect to design and lead a legal data lakehouse on AWS and Databricks. You will define architecture, governance, and secure, scalable data capabilities for legal operations and AI use cases.

The role requires deep Databricks and AWS expertise, experience with regulated environments, and leadership to mentor teams and shape platform roadmaps across Legal and Technology functions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture, engineering, or analytics platforms.
• 5+ years with Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Strong experience with AWS-based data platforms.
• Expertise in data governance, security, and compliance in regulated environments.
• Experience with unstructured data and NLP/document processing pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement end-to-end Legal Data Lakehouse architecture on AWS and Databricks.
• Lead ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Python, and SQL.
• Design multi-layer data architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for contracts and matters.
• Establish scalable batch and streaming data ingestion for structured and unstructured data.
• Implement data governance with Unity Catalog, IAM, and encryption.
• Enable AI/ML workflows and integration with enterprise platforms.
