Job summary

NTT DATA North America is seeking an accomplished Databricks Architect to lead enterprise lakehouse architecture, governance, and modernization on Databricks. The role focuses on Unity Catalog, RBAC/ABAC security, and scalable data-platform patterns for analytics and AI workloads.

You will design target-state architectures, govern data quality, and collaborate with security, data governance, and engineering teams to drive migration from legacy systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or enterprise data-platform delivery.
• Minimum 5+ years of strong hands-on experience with Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
• 5+ years of data-governance experience including metadata, lineage, privacy, security.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Databricks Lakehouse architecture using Medallion Pattern (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Define target-state Databricks architecture across ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics.
• Govern Delta Lake architectures including data lifecycle and schema evolution.
• Own enterprise data-governance architecture with Unity Catalog and access controls.
• Define data domains, ownership models, and stewardship patterns with governance teams.
• Establish fine-grained security using RBAC/ABAC and IAM integrations.
• Architect data-quality controls, lineage, and SLA reporting.
• Design high-performance batch and streaming pipelines on Databricks.
• Provide architecture for governed data exposure via APIs and Delta Sharing.
• Translate business requirements into data models (lakehouse, dimensional, enterprise).
• Partner with Security, Risk, Compliance to embed controls into platform lifecycle.
• Drive migration of legacy platforms to Databricks and mentor engineers.
