Tetra Tech is seeking a Vice President of Data Center Mechanical Engineering to lead our data center practice, provide strategic direction, and deliver high‑impact mechanical systems for mission‑critical facilities. You will guide multidisciplinary teams and shape design standards across large data center campuses.

The role emphasizes leadership, client stewardship, and advancing innovative cooling technologies, with travel up to 30% and collaboration across offices to grow the data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• PE licensure.
• 10+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in mission-critical or data center environments.
• Experience leading mechanical design for data centers and campus projects.
• Proficiency with HVAC, cooling, plumbing, fire protection coordination, and energy-efficient systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center mechanical engineering strategy focused on technical excellence, market growth, client service, and profitable delivery.
• Serve as SME for data center projects, pursuits, and client engagements.
• Provide leadership for mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and cooling infrastructure design for data centers.
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams across mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate basis-of-design standards and ensure high-quality design deliverables.
• Support business development, client meetings, proposals, and capture activities.
