Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a VP Construction - Data Center Project Delivery in Chicago, IL to lead a team delivering mission-critical facilities for enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale clients. You will manage cross-functional PMs, drive strategy, and ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and design standards in a live data center environment.

You will build strong client relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance while guiding multiple projects from conception

Qualifications

• BA or BS in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus
• 7–10+ years of data center or mission critical construction project leadership
• Experience managing multiple data center projects as Owner or GC
• Ability to manage retrofit projects and live data center upgrades
• Executive level client-facing experience with strong relationship management
• Proven leadership mentoring project teams and budget reporting
• Strong proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel; AutoCAD a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction pm team and strategy development
• Expand business with clients and source new projects
• Manage relationships with strategic alliance clients and client teams
• Oversee day-to-day project delivery with contractors and vendors
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
• Provide guidance on-site to ensure performance criteria are met
• Act as project executive across multiple project implementations
• Negotiate contracts with customers and vendors
• Travel as needed to support projects and client needs
