Job summary

NewtekOne is seeking a Vice President, Credit Manager in the United States to lead an underwriting team responsible for SBA 7A and 504 loans, manage risk, and ensure compliance with SBA and internal credit policies.

You will analyze complex transactions, present findings to the Credit Committee, mentor underwriters, and collaborate with executive management to meet production goals while preserving portfolio quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading underwriting teams for SBA/Conventional loans.
• Strong financial analysis and risk assessment skills.
• Familiarity with SBA 7A and 504 guidelines and internal policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise an SBA/Conventional Underwriting Team.
• Oversee underwriting for SBA 7A and 504 loans.
• Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate underwriters.
• Conduct detailed financial analyses including cash flow and collateral.
• Present credit findings to the Credit Committee and executives.
• Prepare credit write-ups and risk assessments for approvals.
• Ensure loans comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with management to meet production goals while maintaining portfolio quality.
• Develop and refine underwriting policies to improve risk controls.
