Job summary

NewtekOne seeks a Vice President, Credit Manager to lead underwriting for SBA and conventional loans, ensuring adherence to SBA guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role oversees a team of underwriters and interfaces with the Credit Committee and executive management.

The Senior leader will conduct advanced financial analyses, manage risk, and drive improvements in underwriting standards while supporting production goals and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage underwriting teams to meet production and risk metrics.
• Strong knowledge of SBA 7A and 504 programs and credit policies.
• Advanced financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
• Experience presenting to Credit Committee and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage SBA/Conventional underwriting team and credit reviews.
• Lead underwriting activities for SBA loans and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Hire and mentor underwriters to strengthen credit analysis.
• Prepare credit write-ups and present findings to the Credit Committee.
• Monitor performance metrics and ensure timely remediation of issues.
• Collaborate with management to balance production with risk controls.
