Job summary

Lenox Advisors, a subsidiary of NFP Corp., seeks a Vice President, Controller to lead the accounting function, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls across a multi-entity organization in New York.

Reporting to the CFO, you will drive the close process, policy development, and balance sheet substantiation while collaborating with executives and external auditors to enable scalable growth.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, audit, or corporate finance.
• Big Four public accounting experience required.
• Public-company or public-company reporting experience required.
• Experience leading financial close and reporting for a complex, multi-entity organization.
• Experience applying U.S. GAAP to business transactions.
• Experience partnering with corporate accounting, auditors, compliance teams, and senior leadership.
• Experience leading accounting teams and cross-functional finance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across a multi-entity organization.
• Own integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, policies, balance sheet substantiation, intercompany accounting, and related controls.
• Deliver financial statements and management reporting that clearly communicate performance, trends, and risks.
• Analyze financial results and translate drivers and issues into insights for leadership.
• Partner with corporate accounting, compliance, internal audit, and external auditors on reporting and controls.
• Advise business leaders on accounting considerations related to decisions and transactions.
• Develop accounting professionals and foster accountability, collaboration, and growth.
• Support mergers and acquisitions through diligence, reporting integration, and post-acquisition activities.
• Lead initiatives to simplify processes, improve reporting capabilities, and scale the function.
