Job summary

Lenox Advisors, a subsidiary of NFP Corp., seeks a VP, Controller to lead the accounting function, ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive scalable processes across a complex, multi-entity organization in New York.

The role reports to the CFO and collaborates with Corporate Accounting, Compliance, Internal Audit, and external auditors. 12+ years in accounting, with Big Four and public company experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional accounting designation required.
• MBA or other advanced finance designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across a complex, multi-entity organization.
• Own the integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, accounting policies, balance sheet substantiation, intercompany accounting, and related controls.
• Deliver financial statements and management reporting that clearly communicate business performance, financial results, trends, and risks.
• Analyze financial results and translate key drivers, trends, and issues into useful insights for leadership.
• Partner with NFP/Aon Corporate Accounting, Compliance, Internal Audit, and external auditors on reporting, audit, accounting, and control matters.
• Advise business leaders on accounting and reporting considerations related to business decisions and transactions.
• Develop accounting professionals and create an environment that supports accountability, collaboration, and continued growth.
• Support mergers and acquisitions through accounting diligence, reporting integration, and post-acquisition accounting activities.
• Lead initiatives that simplify processes, improve reporting capabilities, strengthen controls, and enable the accounting function to scale with the organization.
