Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Investment Banking Vice President in New York to lead the CMG Consumer Retail coverage team. You will oversee transaction execution, strengthen client relationships, and provide strategic advice across buy-side and sell-side M&A, and debt/equity financings.

You will mentor Analysts and Associates and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. Role requires strong financial modeling, leadership and client-management skills, with a track record

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of investment banking experience with a master’s degree, or seven years of investment banking or equivalent experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong track record of executing buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity and debt financing transactions in an investment banking advisory role.
• Experience leading deal teams of Analysts and Associates.
• Strong leadership, communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen relationships with Consumer Retail clients, serving as a primary day-to-day contact and strategic advisor.
• Lead the execution of complex transactions from origination through closing, including buy-side and sell-side M&A, and debt and equity financings.
• Translate detailed financial, valuation and industry analyses into clear strategic recommendations tailored to client objectives.
• Oversee the development of financial models, customized valuation analyses, transaction materials and client presentations.
• Advise clients on industry trends, strategic alternatives, financing considerations and transaction structures.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of bankers, attorneys, tax advisors and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee due diligence processes and contribute actively to the negotiation of transaction documentation.
• Manage deal teams and workflows to ensure high-quality execution and timely delivery.
• Mentor, train and develop Analysts and Associates while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Contribute to client coverage, business development and the continued growth of the CMG Consumer Retail franchise.
